Reverse engineering an existing system and prototyping a faster alternative during my MSc in Software Engineering.
During the third semester of my MSc in Software Engineering, we worked on a project with dao. The aim was to reverse engineer an existing system and create a prototype of a much faster alternative.
Understanding the existing system
We started by examining which data the system required and what it produced. From those inputs and outputs, we investigated how the calculations worked and managed to reverse engineer the most important parts of the system.
Building a prototype
With the core calculations understood, we moved on to building a prototype of the alternative system.
